by watching yourself in your daily life with alert interest, with the intention to understand rather than to judge, in full acceptance of whatever may emerge, because it is there, you encourage the deep to come to the surface and enrich your life and consciousness with its captive energies. This is the great work of awareness; it removes obstacles and releases energies by understanding the nature of life and mind. Intelligence is the door to freedom and alert attention is the mother of intelligence!โ

Without name and form
RELENTLESS
ONE-POINTED PERSEVERANCE
brings about the change in perspective which WILL ESTABLISH YOU IN PEACE.
Our mind is the swiftest thing in creation. Let the mind move at its own speed constantly towards the One Aim, which is God.
If you endeavour to fulfil yourself by entering the current of your true being, this current will eventually lead you to the perfect poise of your own true being.
The Beloved is comparable to ice,
which is nothing but water, and consequently He is without form, without quality and the question of manifestation does not arise.
This is the state of Self-Realisation.
For to find the Beloved is to find one’s Self
to discover that God is one’s Self,
wholly identical with Oneself,
one’s innermost Self the Self of one’s Self.
– Ma Anandamayi.
Friendship of one .
Sage Vasishta said:
“……realise that Supreme being
where there is no sorrow nor destruction.
O Rama,
the omnipresent omniscience or
the cosmic being
shines eternally in all beings.”
“As long as the highest wisdom does not dawn in the heart, the person revolves in this wheel of birth and death.”
“This wisdom destroys the forest of ignorance. Roaming in this forest one undergoes confusion and seemingly interminable suffering.”
“Rama there are four gate-keepers at the entrance to the Realm of Freedom, moksha. They are self-control, spirit of enquiry, contentment and good company.
The wise seeker should diligently cultivate the friendship of these, or at least one of them.”
– Yoga Vasishta.
Don’t be selfish.
The more you meditate, the more helpful you can be to others, and the more deeply you will be in tune with God. Selfish people remain spiritually hidebound, but the unselfish expand their consciousness. When you find your omnipresence in meditation, you will find God. If He is pleased with you, all nature will work in harmony with you. Learn to talk to Him with all your soul.

Yogoda Satsanga Lessons
Experiencing full glory
The majority of human beings are not capable of experiencing even this minute thrill at its fullest, because the lower-level energies are not capable of containing or measuring higher-level energies. By the same token, if given more than requisite voltage, any energy system will overload and blow up the circuits. We have established such strong identification with the lower-level energies the body, emotions etc. that we have weakened our power system and made it incapable of receiving a larger dose of the thrill. So we have to gradually tune it to its higher-level energies until enough strength is built up in the system for us to be able to awaken to the full glory that is flowing into us even as we read this.

Immortality your birthright
“Worldly life is no doubt a battlefield.
By becoming conscious of one’s spiritual wealth one must strive to emerge triumphant from the battle.”
“The endeavour to awaken to his real nature is man’s duty as a human being.”
“Find out who you are. Discover the significance of the round of births and deaths, its cause and where it leads. When man becomes a traveller on the path to his inner being, the distance that separates him from his goal [of Reality] gradually vanishes. You will most certainly have to undertake this pilgrimage to Immortality, trampling under foot hundreds and hundreds of obstacles and impediments.”
– Words of Ma Anandamayi.
Union is possible.
Purification
Yoga is definite and scientific. Yoga means union of soul and God, through step-by-step methods with specific and known results. It raises the practice of religion above the differences of dogma. My guru, Sri Yukteswar, extolled Yoga; he did not, however, indicate that realization of God thereby would be immediate. โYou have to work hard for it,โ he told me. I did, and when the promised results came, I saw that Yoga was marvellous.
Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda,
โMan’s Eternal Questโ
Prepare for death
Each one of us is fond of certain things in life, and the liking develops into rฤga, attachment or affection. When the things or persons we like part from us, or we part from them at the end of lifeโs journey, we are afflicted with grief. Death forcibly separates us from the objects of our attachment, resulting only in grief all round. We must develop the capacity to leave this world without regret when death knocks at our doors. How this is to be achieved is the problem of life. We should strive to convert all our worldly achievements and resources into the currency dharma, so that we can carry with us this dharma, when the call comes to quit this world.
Everything is Self.
Sage Dattatreya continued:
Thus pure intelligence,
free from objective knowledge,
has been proved to exist;
it can be felt on many occasions in ordinary life.
However,
it goes undetected because people are
in the meshes of Maya and not conversant with it.
Alertness alone will reveal it.
Why say so much about it?
The long and short of it is this.
Objective knowledge is gained by the mind;
the mind cannot be objectified. Still it follows that there must be mind even in the absence of objects.
Such pure mind entirely divested of all objective knowledge (or thoughts) is pure intelligence. Awareness is its nature.
Therefore it is always realised, for no other knower beside itself can ever be admitted.
Do you think,
O Bhargava,
that the Self is not aware when objects are seen?
If not aware, the Self cannot be.
If the Self is not, how can you raise this question!
Can you seek any good for yourself if the Self be a myth like a flower in the sky?
How can I establish the Self for you? Consider and tell me.
Or do you mean to say that there is ordinarily an awareness of the Self but it cannot be particularised?
If so, know it to be the unending awareness which is perpetually existing.
That is your Self.
The Self is free from particulars.
How strange that knowing it, you are
still ignorant!
At the time of cognising an object, the pure
intellect assumes its shape and manifests as such. Of itself it is pure and has no form. Objective knowledge is thus a particularised section of pure intelligence.
The SELF IS EVER-SHINING, UNPARTICULARIZED, UNBLEMISHED, ORDINARY EXISTENCE
โ SELF-AWARE AND SELF-SUFFICIENT.
Second-hand knowledge of the Self gathered from books or Gurus can never emancipate a man until its truth is rightly investigated and applied to himself;
direct Realisation alone will do that. Therefore, follow my advice and realise yourself, turning the mind inward.
– Tripura Rahasya.
Excerpt from Chapter XVIII
All answers in one seed
โSitting in meditation helps the consciousness to blossom. It causes deeper understanding and spontaneous change in behavior. These changes are brought about in the consciousness itself, not in the pseudo-personality. Forced changes are at the level of the mind. Mental and intellectual changes are totally unnatural and different from the ones that take place in the birth principle. These take place naturally, automatically, by themselves, due to meditation.
Most of the people see the tree of knowledge and admire it, but what is to be understood is its sourceโthe seed, the latent force from which it sprouts. Many people talk about it but only intellectually; I talk about it from direct knowledge.
A small speck of consciousness, which is like a seed, has all the worlds contained in it. The physical frame is necessary for it to manifest itself.
All the ambitions, hopes and desires are connected with an identity, and so long as there is an identity, no truth can be apperceived.โ ~ Nisargadatta Maharaj
